Globally, solar electricity has grown at a compound annual rate of nearly 50% for the past decade. Greengate Power received approval to begin construction of the Travers Solar project in southern Alberta. It will generate 400 megawatts of power, enough for more than 100,000 homes. With over 300 days of sunshine in Alberta, the location is a natural place to harvest energy. The Virtual Reality simulation is a high-altitude look at the completed project.
Developed as an education, entertainment, and site visualization tool to help stakeholders, clients and the general public visualize the truly massive scale of two renewable energy projects, Greengate raised over $500 million from the government.
